INTERVIEW
It's a practice from the past that con-
nects with these objects that are part
of the enogastronomic tradition, from
grandmothers' kitchens to contempo-
rary restaurant settings.
A mortar with a pestle, a rolling
pin, and a wine chiller: tell us how
these three objects from the "Filò
by Andrea Vecera for Marmi Lanza"
collection came to be…
"I aimed to give these three objects a
shape that departs from their canoni
cal representation The rolling pin for
example is designed like a monolith
that doesnt immediately allude to its
function because it diverges from its
conventional form. Similarly, the mor-
tar, at f irst glance, doesn't resemble
the classic marble mortar. Moreover,
these three objects are designed with
dual practical and aesthetic function-
ality. The wine chiller serves to main-
tain white and rosé wines at the right
temperature, while its lid becomes a
coaster for wines at room temperature.
The lid of the mortar transforms into a
pot rest. The rolling pin can be stored
vertically like an obelisk on the kitchen
counter and becomes a decorative
object
