marble from other countries as well.
I have experimented with different
granites but found them more
restrictive compared to the artistic
freedom provided by marble.
You are based in Norway and
Tuscany: how those two identities
get along in sculpting your
identity as an artist
All the traveling required can be tiring
but apart from that I f ind working in
two different places quite stimulating
Not much marble sculpture is being
made in Norway, not much f igurative
sculpture either, so working within the
rich artistic tradition of Pietrasanta has
profoundly inf luenced and shaped my
artistic development. And of course;
Italy's rich art history allows for easy
access to masterpieces and valuable
lessons from the masters of the past.
