Personally, I am always moved when
I enter a palace, stroll through a
square, or admire a cathedral and
recognise the marbles that adorn
it: the famous Carrara Marble in the
Venaria Reale and the Cathedral of
Pisa, the Verona Red Marble used
in the construction of the Arena di
Verona and the Basilica of San Zeno
Maggiore in our beautiful city The
Arabescato Cipollino Marble that
enriches the Basilica of San Marco in
Venice. The Numidian Yellow Marble
used in Roman times to build the
Colosseum in Rome and the Arch of
Constantine. The famous Staircase of
the Royal Palace of Caserta consisting
of 116 steps of Trapani marble. The
intrinsic nobility of marble, and
natural stones in general, lies in their
uniqueness. And in their ability to
maintain their beauty over time in any
design project, classic or modern.
In this issue of ML World, we reveal
the rare marbles from the Marmi
Lanza selection and how to create
a marble design lamp with our cut-
to-size service. We look far ahead
to the future cities emerging like
contemporary cathedrals in the
desert, where marble returns to centre
stage. Between ref lections of the past
and glimpses of the future
